Listed Paris Lane Stakes To Media World
Stakes racing on Saturday produced a number of stakes-winners purchased for seven figures as yearlings in Australia with $1.8million Inglis Easter sale-topper Autumn Glow leading the way in the Group I ATC Epsom after earlier success for $1million 2YO Incognito, while at Flemington $1.4million entire Media World took out the Listed VRC Paris Lane Stakes (1400m).

Trained by Peter Snowden and ridden by Mick Dee, Media World won the Group III Hawkesbury Guineas last season and looked good at his second run back from a spell scoring a neck win over last start stakes-winner Café Millennium.

Winning Trainer: Peter Snowden (rep by Aaron Lau)

“Michael knows the horse possesses good natural gate speed. We’re either going to be in front or outside the lead.

“He did that without complications.

“He’ll stay down here and there are races over 1400-metres every couple of weeks.”

Winning Jockey: Michael Dee

“I always knew he was going to keep finding. We did have to overcome the widest barrier and he jumped very well.

“He relaxed super today as well and gave a great kick. He did a super job to hold off the challengers.

“I feel like 1400 is probably his best distance. He shows that good natural speed and if he was ridden a touch quieter he’d deal with getting out over further.

“Super training effort second-up here. He came to the end of his run first-up and trained on.

“Yulong have been great supporters of mine and great to get another win.”

A four year-old stallion by Written Tycoon, Meda World was bred by Frank and Christine Cook and made $1.4million at Inglis Easter in the Fairview Park draft when snapped up by Yulong with the Cook’s retaining a share in his ownership.

Media World was the highest priced yearling by Written Tycoon sold in 2023.
