Winning a $100,000 ATC Super Maiden is a great way to start your career and promising Written Tycoon colt Crescent King did just that at Canterbury on Wednesday bringing a pedigree update for his 2YO half-brother to be offered at Inglis Ready 2 Race next month.
Trained by Peter Snowden and ridden by Zac Lloyd, Cresent King was a short-priced favourite for the 1100m contest and scored by a long neck at his third race start.

“He’s still learning and did a few things wrong and wobbled around the corner, but he’s shown quality at home for a long time and is more settled this time than last,” said Peter Snowden.
“At the end of the day he’s a nice horse and I like him. I think he has a future.”
A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase from Yulong, Crescent King was re-offered in the Kenmore Lodge draft at MM Horses in Training where he made $300,000 when bought by Amy Feng, who purchased 13 horses from that sale, many of which have been exported to race in China.
Crescent King is the first foal of well-bred Not a Single Doubt mare True Moonlight, a winning grand-daughter of stakes-winner Lunaspur from the family of Group winners Moonovermanhattan, Colorado Claire, Gunnison and Selenia.

Yulong will offer the next foal from True Moonlight, a colt by Lucky Vega (IRE) at the Inglis Ready 2 Race Sale as Lot 154.
